Rapak green Bag-in-Box logo to boost environmental profile

The development of a unique, eye-catching logo is part of a major initiative to promote the environmental benefits of bag-in-box among end consumers. The logo conveys the message that ‘bag-in-box technology is green’ and it has been introduced to help companies who use bag-in-box provide valuable reassurance to their customers while at the same time contributing to an enhanced brand image for their products.

The basis for the introduction of the logo is the independent Life Cycle Assessment of bag-in-box packaging, from PIRA. The PIRA report assessed and compared the potential life cycle environmental impacts of bag-in-box technology with alternative liquid packaging formats in key markets including wine, postmix syrup, dairy, edible oils, chemicals, industrial products, aseptic and bulk packaging. The overall findings confirmed that bag-in-box has excellent environmental credentials. More information on findings on: http://www.rapak.com/pages/environment/findings.asp

Rapak’s Sales and Marketing Director Jean-Paul Roosendaal explains: “We have taken this important step to further emphasise bag-in-box’s environmental attributes. Highlighting these benefits will confirm to consumers the appropriateness of their purchasing decision, helping to boost sales and positioning the brand owner as a responsible company. We hope customers will be keen to take advantage of the logo to assist in their marketing and promotional activities.”
