Bag-In-Box for juice: convenient and green packaging

Becker's Bester, German leading fruit juice manufacturer, is launching its top-selling apple and orange juices in 5 litre bag-in-boxes from Rapak.

Bag-in-box provides an efficient and convenient ambient distribution solution with a user-friendly convenient dispensing system. Once the pack is opened, the bag collapses as the juice is dispensed without air getting into the product.

Becker's Bester says the Rapak bag-in-box enables the juice to remain fresh for up to three months after opening. Bag-in-box offers excellent product protection, convenient storage and user-friendly operation, the large decoration area of the box provides opportunities for effective branding and maximum impact on shelf.

Bag-in-box's positive environmental profile was another factor in its selection by Becker's Bester. The format generates up to five times less waste than rigid containers: empty packs collapse fully to reduce space during disposal and the cardboard outer is fully recyclable. Bag-in-box is also up to 80% lighter than alternative pack formats, which can equate to a saving of 20% of energy costs during transport.

"The Rapak bag-in-box is the ideal convenience pack, delivering fresh juice to customers when they want it," comments Ulrich Günther, director of Becker's Bester. "We needed a pack that would meet demands for larger sizes but it was imperative that the quality of our product was not compromised in any way. The Rapak solution perfectly meets both these requirements."
